<lj:music>wicked original broadway cast</lj:music>

WICKED

First of all, this broadway smash isnt just one them musicals which broadway keeps crankin out these days...u know the ones, "lets turn every movie and artists song collection into a broadway spectacular"
NO! This is something else! Because im a lazy cunt, im gonna copy and paste he synopsis from the official site for ya'll

"Long before Dorothy dropped in, two other girls meet in the Land of Oz. One, born with emerald-green skin, is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. How these two unlikely friends end up as the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch makes for the most spellbinding new musical in years"

I fell in love with the musical in October last year, and i still can listen to it any day, every day and not bore of it. The Original Broadway Cast soundtrack features Idina Menzel as Elphaba (the green witch) and Kristin Chenoweth as Glinda (The good witch). Their voices blend perfectly, and their comic timing is perfect. Im saddened by the fact ill never get to see them on stage in those roles.

Idina... her voice is so powerful and expressive, but you never know what she will give you. Shes either spot on and 100% perfect, or she will fail miserably. But that makes her more likeable. Defying Gravity is Elphaba's big solo number, and whoever is singing it, its sure to be one of the best moments in musical history. So much power and strength from one little green witch!

I am eagerly awaiting the show to arrive in Australia in 2008, even tho they will be casting the same over acting - bad singing Glinda from the UK production. It will be a amazing show still!

    <lj:music>if you keep losing sleep - silverchair</lj:music>

Today i saw "300". saw with someone who had no interest in the movie at all who complained about it the whole way thru.
wish i saw it with people whos more open minded, person who doesnt just like the same sort of movie, not open to anything else.
anyways, i thought the movie was fully sick! haha. the visuals were briliant, u quickly forget it was filmed on green screen.
and it had gerard butler.. of course it rocks! lol.

long weekend for me. dont really feel like going out, unless its something where i dont have to do nething... like movies or i duno, go for a drive somewhere. got out heaps of movies and downloded some great ones to watch again.

Silverchair's album was released last weekend! its great! its not quite Diorama, which in my opinion is their best album and my favourite album ever to boot.
Young Modern has more of a umm beetles-esque feel to it... more simple, less heavy metal guitar, more orchestral, piano and accoustic guitar, whilst Diorama had much more of a rich grand feeling to it.
"Those Thieving Birds/ Strange Behaviour / Those Thieving Birds" is like Tuna In the Brine from Diorama (best song ever), and could possibly be my favourite on the new album. im missing the heavier rockier songs missing from the new album tho.

im in a musical at the moment which is going pretty well, "How to succeed in business without really trying"... bit of a lame mouth full of a title but the shows pretty funny with a fun cast. rehersals are a laugh.

anyways im bored, gona grab the popcorn and watch pans labyrinth (again).

happy easter y'all
